Description:

Abstract:

Sand thickness is a measure of the thickness of the sand layer overlaying the lacustrine clay/diamicton (drift). This was created by getting sand thicknesses from Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) well logs for private wells in Fulton, Henry, and Lucas counties in NW Ohio. The thickness points where then interpolated into a layer by using the kriging method in ESRI's ArcGIS Geostatistical Analyst extension.

Purpose:

Created as a part of the Oak Openings GIS database. Can be used to aid land use planning, environmental analyses, hydrogeologic studies, etc.

Supplemental_Information:

Data for Swanton county is missing because it was not in the ODNR database.
