About Me
I grew up in a town called Brunswick, Ohio. Went to Brunswick High School where I was in the marching band for all
four years. Yes I know, before you say anything...we got to go to Hawaii and play in the halftime show during the Hula
Bowl...so take that!! After High School I moved to Toledo and went to school at the University of Toledo. I made a lot
of wonderful friends there and have many pictures of them in the photo album page. I am currently living in
Pennsylvania working for URS Corp, an environmental consulting firm. The amazing scenery and outdoor activities
makes living in the Harrisburg area a lot of fun.
I also have a blog, I guess I am trying to be like everyone else.
Family and Friends
I have a great family and great friends. There are some pictures of them in the left margin and also in my photo
album. We are one goofy bunch is all I have to say.
Hobbies and Interests
I have many hobbies and interests that might seem weird to many people. First of all, being a geologist, I love to
collect rocks and minerals. I have a large, ever-growing rock collection. I have two cabinets that I store my
collection in and I am having my dad build be another one that I will have short-wave, and UV lights for my fluorescent
rocks. I will have a link to pictures and descriptions of my collection on my photo album page when I get to it.
I also collect cancellation stamps from national parks in my national park passport book. I have a whole web page
dedicated to this hobby under "my obsession". I have also started another hobby called "geocaching". Geocaching
is an entertaining adventure game for GPS users. Participating in a cache hunt is a good way to take advantage of the
wonderful features and capability of a GPS unit. The basic idea is to have individuals and organizations set up caches
all over the world and share the locations of these caches on the internet. GPS users can then use the location
coordinates to find the caches. Once found, a cache may provide the visitor with a wide variety of rewards. All the
visitor is asked to do is if they get something they should try to leave something for the cache. Check out the bottom
of this page to see my geocaching stats!
Another weird hobby of mine is to collect road maps from every state that I drive through. I know this is weird, but it a
super cheap hobby and comes in handy when you are lost.
I love to camp, fish and kayak. I own a Necky Elaho sea kayak which after a couple years I still
have not got used to paddling yet. Fishing is another problem of mine. I love to fish but I don't
ever seem to catch much of anything. One year I did catch a couple of walleye during the annual run
in the Maumee River in northwest Ohio. My friends and I also go ocean fishing off of the coast of
North Carolina once every couple of years with a charter called Hurricane Fleet. They are a great
charter and we always have a blast when we go.
